# Media Guidelines

To better assist the merchandising process of your Smart Theme install we have compiled the following table to illustrate the aspect ratios and suggested sizes of image assets

| Aspect Ratio            | Mobile       | Desktop       |
| ----------------------- | ------------ | ------------- |
| 1:1 (Square)            | \~400px wide | \~800px wide  |
| 3:4 (Portrait)          | \~400px wide | \~800px wide  |
| 4:3 (Landscape)         | \~480px wide | \~960px wide  |
| 16:9, 16:10 (Landscape) | \~960px wide | \~1920px wide |
| MP4 Embedded Videos     | <3MB         | <3MB          |
| Icons (1x1)             | 50px x 50px  | 50px x 50px   |

Some images may be larger than the intended device. This is intentional as Shopify will adjust the image to the appropriate size when it is displayed to the end user.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://docs.platter.com/smart-theme/smart-theme/media-guidelines.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
